Reproduction of a winged Isis figure. Goddess of Life, motherhood and magic, she forms a divine triad with her husband Osiris, king and judge of the Souls in the Afterlife, and their son, Horus, the falcon-headed god. The symbols of Isis are the noose or knot and the ladder or throne that she carries on her head.
Isis became the most revered of the Egyptian Goddesses, and with the Roman Empire her cult spread from Egypt to the Middle East, Greece and Rome, as well as all along the Mediterranean coast. Isis was worshipped as the supreme and Universal Goddess in the mystery religions of the first centuries of our era. She embodies the feminine principle, the magical source of all fertility and transformation.
