Mirror based on the commemorative cartouche of the Vatican Map Room. It depicts the Italian region of Bologna. In the 16th century Pope Gregory XII, to whom we owe the publication of the current Gregorian calendar, commissioned the painting of the Vatican Map Room. The legends of these maps are inscribed on cartouches.
