The Catholic Dedication of Our Lady of Lourdes refers to the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Bernadette Soubirous, who said she had witnessed in 1858 in the Grotto of Massabielle, on the banks of the Gave de Pau River, Lourdes. Pope Pius IX authorized the veneration of the Virgin Mary in Lourdes in 1862.
Every 11th of February the Church celebrates the Feast of the Virgin of Our Lady of Lourdes.
