Japanese art is a synthesis of the different cultures and influences that have reached its shores over time. Japanese painting developed remarkably, acquiring great vitality, ranging from palace scenes and scenes of everyday life to landscapes and animals.
Since ancient times, the peacock has been one of the animals admired by humans because of its extraordinary polychrome fan. Many folk dances feature steps inspired by the peacock’s courtship dance.
