Description

A reproduction of a marbel sculpture of high quality made in reconstituted marble (marble dust with resin). Finished with a patina of aging. The patina of aging is applied with natural earth.

Sculpture perfectly prepared for the decoration of exterior, such as gardens and terraces or for interior.

Reproduction of the Venus of Frejus. The original marble sculpture is a 1st century BC Roman copy of a Greek work (5th century BC) which was lost in antiquity. It appeared in the French town of Frejus, hence its name, and is now in the Louvre Museum. This representation was also known as the ‘Aphrodite of the gardens’, as the numerous copies of it were made, especially in Roman times, and were usually placed in the gardens of the great Roman villas and palaces for their ornamentation.
