Tambourine dancer made of reconstituted marble (marble powder + binder). Finished with an aging patina.

This is a reproduction of a sculpture of a reposing dancer. The original was made in marble by the Scottish sculptor William Calder Marshall (Edinburgh, 1813-1894), whose work was compared to Canova´s Calder Marshall was given a bonus of £500 by the Art Union for creating the work we reproduce, which was exhibited in 1848 at the Royal Academy.
