Reproduction of a sculpture of the Egyptian god Osiris. Made in reconstituted marble (marble powder + agglutinant). Aged patinas with natural earth.

This figure depicts Osiris, the Egyptian god of the Afterlife, fertility and rebirth. Husband of Isis, goddess of motherhood, life and magic, he was murdered by his brother Seth, who tore him to pieces and scattered his pieces all over Egypt. His wife Isis recovered his pieces and revived him, conceiving the falcon god Horus, after which Osiris became King of the underworld and Judge presiding over the judgement of the souls of the departed in the afterlife.
