The Discobolus of Myron is one of the most famous sculptures of Classical Greece and a symbol of the canon of human body proportions. It is one of the most widely reproduced ancient sculptures since Roman times. The original, which dates from 455 BC, depicts an athlete at the moment of the discus throw.
This reproduction is a copy of a sculpture from 1814.
