We present a reproduction of the statue of Asclepius, God of medicine, which was found in the sanctuary of Epidaurus. The original is in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
Epidaurus, the sanctuary of Asclepius, was one of the most important sanctuaries built in honour of Asclepius in Ancient Greece. The sanctuaries of Asclepius were called Asclepeion and were intended for the healing of the sick.
