Relief “Youths in Temple“, relief based on a scene from the Hamilton Vase, exhibited in the British Museum. The original piece that inspired this relief is a Greek ceramic vase with red figures from Bari, dated to the 4th century BC. This piece was acquired by the British Museum in the 18th century as part of the collection of vases of the English ambassador to Naples, Sir William Hamilton. The male figure in the temple is interpreted as Castor, one of the Dioscuri, twin brother of Pollux and called “hippodamos” or “horse tamer.”
