Recreation of a medieval relief, taken from the chest of San Millán de la Cogolla, which was made in the 11th century in a transitional style between Mozarabic and Romanesque art. The original piece is a reliquary, a wooden box with twenty-two attached carved ivory plaques depicting scenes from the life of the saint. The upper left-hand plaque depicts the preaching of San Millán among the Cantabrians, and the lower one depicts the execution of the rebellious Cantabrian leader by the Visigothic king Leovigild.
The central plaque depicts two miraculous healings by San Millán, on the upper plaque of a paralysed woman and on the lower of a blind servant girl.
The plaque on the right depicts a miracle that took place during a dinner party at which the saint multiplied the wine to satisfy the guests.
