Reproduction of an Iberian sculpture. Pectoral with wolf. 5th century BC. The original was found at the site of La Alcudia de Elche (Alicante). Relief of a male torso in limestone armed with a pectoral with a wolf’s head. This piece stands out for the interest of its details, especially the wolf-headed disc-armour, with pointed ears and in a defiant attitude. The wolf appears as a totemic animal among the pre-Roman peoples of the Iberian Peninsula, but it also represented the telluric energies of nature.
