Reproduction made of moulded marble (marble powder + binders). Application of ageing patinas based on natural earths. Finished in imitation black stone.

Statues depicting married couples are common in Egyptian art. They are usually depicted either standing or seated, as in this case, embracing each other. Marriage in ancient Egypt was a fundamental institution in which women enjoyed an importance and status unheard of in antiquity.
