Model of the Temple of the Parthenon. This is a piece with an illumination system.
The Parthenon is a temple located on the hill of the Acropolis in Athens. It was consecrated to the patron goddess of the city, Athena Parthenos (Virgin). It was built between 447 and 432 BC, during the period of Athens’ splendour known as the Age of Pericles, by one of the most charismatic rulers of Athenian democracy. The architects involved in its construction were Ictinus and Callicrates, while the sculptor Phidias was responsible for the statues that adorned the pediment, the frieze and the metopes, as well as the great sculpture of Athena that presided over the interior of the temple.
The present building is in ruins after an explosion in the 17th century during a bombardment by the Venetians because it was used by the Turks as a powder magazine.
Highly detailed reproductions of universal art. Greece, Rome, Neoclassicism, Art Deco.
