Description
Reproduction of an ancient Chinese porcelain of a woman with bowls, made in polychrome terracotta.
Height: 36 cm
In Chinese art, various materials such as bronze, jade and ceramics were used in terracotta and porcelain. The most spectacular and famous terracotta figures are those of the Xian Warriors, more than 8,000 life-size statues of soldiers and horses that were discovered during the excavation of the tomb of the first emperor (3rd century BC). In addition to these sculptures, porcelain and terracotta were used to depict smaller figures of anonymous people in everyday scenes.
