Description

Measurements: Height: 23 cm. Width: 56 cm. Depth: 2.5 cm.
During the Roman domination, mosaics were commonly used to decorate floors, walls and vaults, especially under Imperial rule. If we take into account the enormous number of vestiges of their mosaic work and the important contingent described or mentioned in authentic texts, it is almost inconceivable that so few examples have survived to the present day, such as this famous SALVE, which in Roman homes was placed at the entrance.
