In this reproduction, we recreate the iconic sculpture of David. The work of the Renaissance genius Michelangelo, this iconic statue, standing at 5.17 meters, was sculpted between 1501 and 1504 from a block of 6 meters of Carrara marble. This Renaissance masterpiece represents the biblical hero David, who, according to the Old Testament, defeated the giant Goliath with a single stone thrown from his sling.
The sculpture stands out for its extraordinary expression of strength and determination in David’s face, represented at the moment just before the confrontation with Goliath. Originally commissioned to adorn the Cathedral of Florence, in 1504 it was placed in the Piazza della Signoria, where it remained until 1873, when David was moved to the Gallery of the Academy (Galleria dell’Accademia) in Florence, where it is currently located. This transfer helped preserve the sculpture from the wear caused by the elements. David remains one of the most famous and admired works of art in the world.
Our favorite outdoor spaces, gardens, and terraces acquire a special elegance when we incorporate reproductions of large classical sculptures and famous works into their decoration, such as this sculpture of Michelangelo’ s David. This iconic masterpiece, capturing the strength and contained tension characteristic of the works of the Florentine genius, adds a timeless touch to our favorite outdoor spaces. The stone, cast bronze, and molded marble with resin used to create these reproductions withstand the elements well, ensuring the durability and resistance of the pieces in outdoor spaces.
Placed in a prominent place in the garden, the figure of David imparts a unique sense of splendor and blends with the surrounding vegetation, achieving a harmonious synthesis between the beauty of art and nature.
