Hercules and Lycas is a marble sculptural group by the sculptor Antonio Canova, which he executed between 1795 and 1815 and which is in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. According to Greek myths, Hercules’ wife Deyanira sent Licas to Hercules with a poisoned cloak soaked in the blood of the centaur Nesla. When the cloak became hot and began to burn the hero, he threw Lycas into the sea in a rage.
