Reproductions of sculptures inspired by original pieces from museums. Classical art. Handmade in Spain.

Head of the Charioteer of Delphi. The Charioteer of Delphi, also known as Heniokhos, is one of the finest examples of bronze statues from Ancient Greece. Life-sized at 1.8 meters, this sculpture represents a charioteer and was found in 1896 at the Sanctuary of Apollo in Delphi. It is currently on display at the Archaeological Museum of Delphi.

This statue is one of the few large-scale Greek bronze sculptures that have survived to this day. It belongs to the Severe Style (late 6th century BC), marking the transition between the Archaic and Classical styles. The original group consisted of sculptures of the charioteer, horses, and a groom, and it was erected in the northwest part of the sanctuary to commemorate the victory of the tyrant Polyzalos of Gela (Sicily) in the Pythian Games in 474 BC. Of the sculptural ensemble, only the charioteer has been preserved. The excellent state of preservation of the statue is due to the fact that it was buried in 373 BC when the sanctuary was destroyed by an earthquake.

Decorating with reproductions of classical antiquity sculptures, like this bust of the Charioteer of Delphi, is an elegant and timeless way to add a touch of sophistication to our home spaces.
