Lucius Ceionius Commodus Verus Armeniacus (130 AD – 169 AD), commonly known as Lucius Verus Antoninus, was a Roman co-emperor alongside Marcus Aurelius from 161 until his death. Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus were adopted sons of Antoninus Pius appointed by Hadrian, and they were the first two emperors to rule together in Roman history.

The rule of the two co-emperors, Lucius Verus Antoninus and Marcus Aurelius, played a crucial role in the Roman Empire during the 2nd century, marking the culmination of the stable and splendid era characterized by the Antonine dynasty. Both emperors faced challenges such as the Parthian War and the spread of plagues like the Antonine Plague. Despite the adversities, the joint rule of Lucius Verus and Marcus Aurelius helped consolidate imperial power.
