Description
Reproduction of a Roman figure in lost wax molten bronze. Finished with an ageing patina.
Measurements: Width: 11 cm. Depth: 7 cm. Height: 20 cm.
Reproduction of a Roman statuette of the Genius of the Senate of Merida. Found in a pond in front of the Temple of Diana, Mérida (Badajoz). It represents an old man with a beard wearing a toga, under which he wears a tunic with sleeves. In his left hand he holds a ring and a volume or papyrus scroll. With his right hand he is gesturing with a pointing gesture, in the manner of an orator. He wears “calcei senatorii”. The flat, hollow appearance of its back indicates that it must have been attached to a rod and occupied a niche in the temple.
