Bas-relief in moulded alabaster with oil polychromy and age patinas. Wooden frame gilded and silvered with fretwork and moulded alabaster ornaments.

Polychrome bas-relief inspired by the work The Rite of Spring by the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli (1445 – 1510), who was inspired by classical literature. The Roman poet Ovid tells the story of the Greek nymph Chloris, Flora to the Romans, who after being pursued by Zephyrus, the west wind, eventually became the goddess of spring.
