Description
Reproduction of a bronze figure of Shiva.
Height: 35,5 cm
Reproduction of a statue of the god Shiva Nataraja, Lord of the Dance.
Shiva Nataraja is one of the forms in which the Hindu god is represented, in a dancing position and surrounded by a circle of flames.
In Hinduism Shiva is one of the three main gods of the Triad or Trimurti along with Brahma, the creator god and Vishnu the preserver god, Shiva is related to the destruction of forms which allows the birth of new forms. His representation in the Nataraja posture holds very deep meanings, one of which is the Universe in motion. When Shiva stops his dance the universe ends its existence, originating anew when Shiva begins a new dance.
