Figure of the God Hades. In Greek mythology, Hades was the god of the underworld. He was one of the sons of Cronus and Rhea. He had three sisters, Demeter, Hestia and Hera and two brothers, Zeus and Poseidon.
Hades ruled the realm of the dead, named after him, along with his wife Persephone, daughter of Demeter. The guardian of Hades was the three-headed Can Cerberus, who watched that the dead did not leave and the living did not enter. Even so, several heroes managed to enter Hades while alive and were able to leave: the poet Orpheus, in search of his wife Eurydice, Odysseus, to consult the soothsayer Tiresias, and Hercules, whose twelfth task was to capture Cerberus and bring him to King Eurystheus.
