Description
Reproduction of an Egyptian sculpture of the gods Amun and Mut. Made in moulded marble (marble powder with binders). Finished in imitation black stone. Application of ageing patinas based on natural earths.

Total height of the figure with base: 16.5 cm.

Reproduction of an Egyptian figure representing the pair of gods Amun and Mut, the god of the Sun and the Mother Goddess.
Amun was a solar god, and his most important centre of worship was the city of Thebes. He symbolised the hidden Sun, the spirit of the Sun. Mut means “Mother” in Egyptian; she was one of the goddesses who in Egypt symbolised the Mother Goddess, the cosmic partner of the god Amun, both symbolising primordial duality.
