Sculptural group of Hercules and Diomedes, located in the Hall of the Five Hundred (Salone dei Cinquecento) in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. This statue belongs to a series of sculptures depicting the labours of Hercules. Here Hercules is fighting the savage king Diomedes in order to complete his eighth labour, which was the theft of the anthropophagous mares that the king kept in chains.
