The oldest known works of surprising quality, are the called Cycladic idols. They recive the name from the Cycladic a cluster of small scattered islands between mainland Greece and the Anatolian peninsula, where they found these representations. They are a simplified design aesthetics of the body parts, especially the head.
The original piece is in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
