This is a reproduction of the famous sculpture of Apollo and Daphne, which was performed by the Italian sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini in the years 1622 and 1625. This statue belongs to the Baroque style. It is a marble sculpture of natural size that is exposed in the Borghese Gallery in Rome.
It depicts the nymph Daphne who, fleeing from the god Apollo, is turned into the laurel tree by her father, a river divinity.
