Reproduction of an Etruscan mirror. Bronze hand mirrors are the legacy of the Etruscan masters. The front surface was carefully polished, and the reverse was decorated with engravings or reliefs. The Etruscans inhabited the Italian region of Etruria (present-day Tuscany) until their absorption and assimilation by Rome. They developed an art with strong influences from Greece and Asia Minor.
