Mirror based on the commemorative cartouche in the Vatican Map Room. It depicts the Italian region of Apulia. In the 16th century Pope Gregory XII, to whom we owe the publication of the current Gregorian calendar, commissioned the painting of the Vatican Map Room. The legends of these maps are inscribed on cartouches.
