Description

High quality Reproduction made of reconstituted marble (marble powder and Cronolita). Aging patina with natural stones, to give the piece an antique look.

Democritus (460-370 BC) was a Greek philosopher. According to his theory of matter, all things are composed by Atoms, tiny, invisible and indestructible particles of pure matter, which move through infinity in an infinite empty space. His Atomic theory anticipated the modern foundations of energy conservation and the irreducibility of matter.

In addition, he wrote about ethics, proposing happiness as a condition that is achieved through moderation, stillness and liberation from fears. Democritus was known as the Cheerful Philosopher, in contrast to the gloomy and pessimistic Heraclitus.
