Reproduction of “Dying Slave” (ca. 1513), Louvre Museum. Original work by Michelangelo Buonarrotti (1475 – 1564). After finishing the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo devoted himself to the mausoleum commissioned by Pope Julius II, which Michelangelo planned to decorate with sculptures of slaves.
