This relief represents the characteristic emblem of the Order of the Knights of the Temple of Solomon. This order of warrior monks was created in the Holy Land in the 12th century for the protection of Christian pilgrims and holy places. Two riders appear on a horse as a symbol of their brotherhood and initial poverty.
The circumscribed text is made in Greek and Latin characters: Sigillum Militum Xristi, which means “the seal of the Soldiers of Christ.”
