Description
Reproduction of bas-relief in moulded alabaster. Polychrome in oil. Gold leaf borders. Antique patina.
This work is based on Greek mythology. The Hesperides, daughters of Atlas and Hesperides, were the guardians of the golden apples that Aegea gave as a wedding gift to Hera and Zeus. Hercules, in his eleventh trial, seized these fruits after slaying the dragon that guarded them.
