Description
Reproduction of bas-relief in moulded alabaster. Polychrome in oil and tempera with estofados. Silver-plated. Antique patina.
The original mirror is designed from architectural elements of the Cinquecento. Two sophisticated bas-reliefs adorn the sides. These are based on a drawing by the British artist Edward Burne-Jones. Work made on cardboard for the stained glass window of Saint Martin’s Church (Brampton), called “The Pelican”, a prelude to Art Nouveau.
The sculptor Vega Mª Orejudo recreates and composes a new image to form the couple. These three creations of the applied arts make up the elegance of an exclusive Orejudo decoration.
