Description
Relief reproduction of the god Shiva, made of reconstituted marble (marble powder plus binder).
Height: 20 cm.
Reproduction of a relief representing the Hindu god Shiva.
The supreme god of Hinduism, together with Brahma and Vishnu. Shiva is characterised by his ambiguity; an absolute and transcendent being, he is the living image of the duality of the Holy, at the same time the source of life and death. This divinity is represented in different forms, and almost always with a male personification. His iconographic constants are the third eye on his forehead, his four hands, which sometimes hold the attributes that characterise him (the drum, the axe, the lock and the trident), and the headdress with the moon and snakes.
