Description
Reproduction of an Iberian ex-voto made in lost-wax cast bronze. Finished with antique patina.
Height: 11 cm.
Lady with tunic from the 5th century BC. Iberian ex-voto.
Iberian art includes votive offerings, small votive sculptures deposited in Iberian sanctuaries and cult centres, such as Cerro de los Santos, in Albacete, or Despeñaperros, Jaén. They are usually small bronze statuettes and larger stone statues. The characters most often represented are warriors, on the one hand, and on the other, ladies, women dressed in tunics and elaborate headdresses, sometimes adorned with jewellery.
