Teardrop-shaped spoon. Empuries, Girona.

Reproduction of an instrument of Roman origin made in lost wax bronze.

Measurements: Length: 14 cm. Width: 2 cm. Thickness: 0.3 cm.

The original is in the Museum of Empuries.

This type of spoon would have been used in cosmetics or ceremonial rites. Spoons were also used for medicinal or pharmaceutical purposes. These spoons were found in Ampurias (Girona).
