Reproduction of an instrument of Roman origin made in lost-wax bronze.
Measurements: Width: 2 cm. Length: 11.5 cm. Thickness: 0.5 cm.
The original is in the Museum of Antiquities in Arles, France.
It is an eating instrument. The original piece is dated to the 1st century AD.
The spoon is cast in one piece. Its cup is round and its handle is long and quadrangular. Spoons have been found from ancient Rome as tableware, also for use with perfumes, medicines and incense, for ceremonial purposes.
