Description

High quality reproduction made of reconstituted marble (marble powder and Cronolita). Aging patina with natural lands.

Measures: Length: 33 cm.

Approx. weight: 1 kg.

Original in the Louvre Museum, Paris. 1400-135 BC.

This piece represents a naked young woman, with graceful shapes, adorned with belt and necklace. The headdress is a wig with triangular plates that remind us of the elegance and refinement of the XVIII dynasty.

It was believed that this figurine, similar to many other than the Louvre museum has a rich collection, was used as a toilet object, or perhaps also, by its form of spoon or ladle, as a container of various ointments: myrrh, wine, or possibly water , which would serve as an offering in the funerary rites. In fact, we thought that the figure was not a ladle, but simply a soap dish that was used during the bath letting it float on the water, which is precisely what makes the young swimmer who holds it with his hands.
