Frederic Leighton (1830 – 1896) was an English painter and sculptor with great prestige. He is one of the greatest exponents of Victorian School. As a classical painter creates images of great finish, being also a great portraitist. He prints in their works the human figure with great vivacity and expression, what transmits to the viewer a wide richness of emotions. His works were focused on historical, biblical and classical subjects. He was also Baronet, Knight Bachelor and President of the Royal Academy.
