Description
Lost wax bronze reproductions.
Reproduction of an Andalusian lamp. This lamp was made of azophar -laton-, modelled on a sand mould and turned by hand. Its characteristics indicate that it was made in a Western workshop towards the end of the Qur’anic emirate in the AH 9th century or in the early period of the Caliphate (early 10th century). For Islam, light, as so many Qur’anic legends remind us, is a symbol of God and faith.
Original in the Museum of the Alhambra (Granada).
