Recreation of a bust of a woman from ancient Egypt. The diadem with the cobra indicates her royal status. The Ouraeus or royal cobra on crowns symbolised continuous attention.

Women played a very important role in Pharaonic Egypt, with an independence and status unheard of in the ancient world.

The role of women was considered fundamental and revered in Egypt, for the Egyptian woman was the reflection on earth and in the domestic sphere, of the great Mother Goddesses, Isis, Hathor … Kingship was only passed down through the maternal line. Numerous queens have gone down in Egyptian history, in which they played a crucial role.
