Octavian Augustus, born Gaius Octavius (63 B.C.-14 A.D.), was the first emperor of Rome. Octavian was adopted by his great-uncle Julius Caesar, and after Caesar’s assassination, he became his successor. He ruled as a triumvir along with Lepidus and Mark Antony until his confrontation with the latter in the Civil Wars. In the Battle of Actium (31 B.C.), Octavian finally defeated the combined forces of Mark Antony and Cleopatra and consolidated himself as the undisputed leader of Rome, putting an end to the Republic in 27 B.C., when he crowned himself emperor under the name Caesar Augustus, marking the beginning of an Empire that would last four centuries.
His reign is marked by a period of stability and prosperity known as the Pax Romana, which lasted about two hundred years. Augustus also promoted significant political and administrative reforms, leaving a lasting legacy and consolidating the structures of the Empire. After his death, he was deified and officially worshipped in temples throughout the empire. Subsequently, all the emperors who succeeded him adopted the title of Caesar Augustus in his honor.
This bust of Emperor Caesar Augustus is an excellent option for those looking for a classic and elegant decorative piece, whether for their home or workplace. The quality of the material used in the bust’s creation ensures its durability and resistance to the effects of time.
