The sculpture we reproduce represents Ajax, one of the main heroes of the Trojan War, wearing a helmet and looking to the right. The original is a marble work by Giambologna (1570, Château d’Anet, France), a copy of a statue by the Greek sculptor Antigenes (Vatican Museums).
