Polychrome bas-reliefs inspired by the painting by the Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli (1445 – 1510), ” The Spring”. This painting depicts the birth of Spring, with the goddess Venus presiding over the scene, next to her are the nymph Chloris transforming herself into Flora, the goddess of Spring, and the Three Graces, holding hands, in a dancing attitude. Botticelli’s paintings do not faithfully represent reality; the figures are suspended in an idyllic place in a space outside of time.
