Bas-relief Lycian Sarcophagus of Sidon. Reproductions of sculptures and reliefs inspired by original pieces from museums and classical art. Handcrafted in Spain. These reliefs are ideal for interior decoration as well as outdoor spaces such as gardens and terraces.
Recreation made from a relief from the Lycian sarcophagus of Sidon, whose original is exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Istanbul (Turkey). The side reproduced in this relief depicts a hunting scene with a group of horseback hunters surrounding a wild boar.
The Lycian sarcophagus of Sidon was discovered in 1887 in the necropolis of Ayaa, near the city of Sidon (Saida, Lebanon), along with other sarcophagi, such as the so-called Sarcophagus of Alexander. Dating back to the 5th century BC (430–420 BC), it was made of Parian marble by Ionian sculptors and resembles the tombs of the Lycian kingdom (modern-day Turkey), from which it takes its name. The tombs found in the Ayaa necropolis belonged to the kings who ruled in the Phoenician city of Sidon between the mid-5th century and the end of the 4th century BC.
Decoration with reliefs inspired by Antiquity offers the opportunity to achieve a unique fusion of history and art. Bas-reliefs, with their sculptural technique combining depth and detail, become standout elements in our spaces, adding a touch of distinction to our homes.
Incorporating reproductions of classical reliefs into our home decor creates a unique atmosphere that evokes the grandeur of past civilizations. These pieces can be combined with contemporary design and style, establishing a timeless connection between the past and the present.
