The Apollo of Belvedere, also called the Pythian Apollo, is a famous marble sculpture from Classical Antiquity. It was rediscovered at the end of the 15th century, during the Renaissance. Since the mid-18th century, it was considered the best ancient sculpture by neoclassicists and for centuries it was considered the epitome of the ideals of aesthetic perfection of European and Western culture.
