The sculpture we reproduce recreates the god Anubis found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. It has been made by replacing the original palanquin with a wooden base.

Anubis is the god of Ancient Egypt that accompanies souls in the difficult transit to the hereafter. It is associated with the judgement where the heart of the deceased is weighed with the feather of Maat, justice. It is also the God who accompanies in the process initiation the candidate to the mysteries that has to give way to the second birth or awakening of the soul.
