Alexander the Great bronze-patinated head, reproduction made from an original Greek sculpture.
The sculpture we reproduce is a recreation of the head of Alexander the Great discovered in Pella, Greece. The original is housed in the archaeological museum of that city, which was the birthplace of Alexander.
Alexander the Great (356 BC – 323 BC) was appointed king of Macedonia from 336 BC as the successor to his father. Son of Philip II of Macedonia and Olympias of Epirus, Alexander was prepared by his parents to reign, providing him with a careful education under the philosopher Aristotle. Alexander spent the early years of his reign imposing his authority over the peoples subjected to Macedonia, who had taken advantage of Philip’s death to rebel. After stabilizing control over Greece, he quickly launched his army against the powerful and vast Persian Empire, extending his empire to the border with India.
The figure of this historical character has inspired numerous works of art from Classical Antiquity to the present day. A figure like this head of Alexander the Great adds a unique touch of distinction to our favorite corner or our workplace, such as a library or an office.
The versatility of these reproductions allows them to be integrated into a variety of decorative styles, from classical to modern. Choosing to place these pieces in key spaces, such as the lobby, living room, or library, allows us to create a visual narrative that connects the present with the greatness of the past and turns our home into a small museum that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of these historical figures that remain a timeless source of inspiration.
